Leadership

Although they say learning happens in the classroom, I’ve found that leadership positions have been my greatest teachers. The lessons I’ve gained from these roles have shaped the person I am today and continue to influence the person I strive to become. The people I’ve met, the responsibilities I’ve carried, and the experiences I’ve embraced—there’s truly nothing like it. I invite you to take a closer look.

As President of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Club at SDSU, I have successfully increased chapter participation by 150% and grown membership by 40% during our first semester. I introduced field trips as part of our club offerings, providing members with valuable real-world exposure to industry leaders. In Fall, we visited LPL Financial and Millennium Health, and plans are already in place for Spring visits to Qualcomm, Sony Interactive, and Petco Park.

Additionally, I have strengthened relations with the San Diego AITP professional chapter, creating a mentorship program that connects our students with top tech professionals across California, offering guidance and insight into their career paths. To further streamline opportunities for members, I implemented a dedicated job and internship board, providing direct access to career growth in the tech industry. Through these initiatives, I strive to create a dynamic, growth-oriented environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
